It's A Girl Thing Layout

These photos were taken at the Children's Museum. My daughter loved machinery and would stop to watch it at any opportunity. She jumped at the chance to actually use the machines.

I began with the June 1st sketch from Stuck?!

I used Recollections: Basic Bold for the grey and yellow paper. The yellow, black, blue and orange cardstock are Recollections. The blue chevron paper is open stock Recollections. The white note paper is Pink Paislee: Hello Sunshine.
The title is from Fancy Pants: Dancing Girl (do you like the cheeky feminist twist?!). I used some markers to change the colour of the letters to match the layout. Then I made the 'caution' signs from some chipboard.
Now, the best part - the construction stickers. I 'borrowed' these from my daughter's John Deere sticker book. I was pretty excited when I remembered we had this. I also used staples on my layout for the first time. I just used regular staples and like how it adds to the raw material feel.

Little Things Layout

This is a picture from when my daughter was two. She was in her 'climb on everything' phase. Daddy was a jungle gym and I remember she was so proud to be able to do a handstand.

I chose the theme from the Lasting Memories: Little Things Challenge #247.

I used papers and embellishments from My Mind's Eye: My Girl collection. The large letters are Thickers. I used the Fiskar's star stencil.

I'm also entering the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Happiness is Family Layout

This was my brother and sister-in-law's wedding. My daughter was the cotton candy girl and did a great job. I love all three of these pictures and the emotions they have captured.

I love sketch #152 by Rochelle Spears at Sketches in Thyme.

I used a My Mind's Eye: Now & Then Dorothy Kit. The lettering is by American Crafts. The word 'family' is from DCWV: Home for Christmas stack. The background paper is from Recollections: The Sweetest Thing.
I also made sure to include elements for the June Scrap Our Stash Challenge #27.
B - buttons
R - rub-on words
A - alphas
D - dots
S - string
I also chose these photos to enter the challenge at Lasting Memories: #245 Happiness. I just love the smile on my daughter's face - pure happiness!

Fishy Fun Layout

This was one of the most beautiful summer days. On the lake, no bugs, calm water, full sun and cool breeze. Then add watching my daughter learn to fish and actually catch something - it was perfect!

I made a fishing layout to play along at Paper Issues: Seas the Day.

I began with the sketch from the Scrappy Friends Challenge for June.

I also entered the Word Challenge from the Scrappy Friends. I used the word "Sun" in the stickers.

I entered the Scrappy Friends Tic Tac Toe Challenge as well. I went across the bottom with a summer theme, mixed alphas and buttons.
I also chose my papers based on the Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs for June: Summertime Blues. I used a summer theme and then began with the blue sky and water. I then added papers from the Bella Blvd: Playdate set and the green letters are from Pebbles.

Visiting Santa Layout

I love the background and set-up for the Santa that we visited. I've been looking forward to scrapping this photo. Too bad my daughter is doing her "teeth" smile a.k.a. "the terrified of Santa" smile. Can't really blame her though!

I followed the sketch from the June Scrap-a-holic Challenge at DCWV.

June sketch 2015
I think this is my third challenge using the DCWV: Home for Christmas Stack. It is becoming a favourite. The writing paper is from SNAP!. The stars are from a Recollections embellishment package and the ribbon from the clearance bin at Shopper's Drug Mart. Score!

Mommy's Birthday Layout

I am entering the challenge at Challenge Yourself #19: Anything Goes. This means scrapping a picture of myself. I had to dig way back to 2011 to find one. Geez. These were taken on my birthday three months after my daughter was born. For the longest time I couldn't look at pictures from this time because it was so difficult for me but now that I am better, I can enjoy them. Special shout out to my sister-in-law for baking awesome cupcakes.

I chose Sketch #122 from Feeling Sketchy.

I noticed that The Paper Girls #82 were having a birthday challenge this month and joined in on the fun.

I used paper from We Are Memory Keepers: Madame Royale. I used my circle cutter to make a stencil and then pasted the strings of gems around the stencil.

Double Birthday Layout

My husband and daughter both have their birthday's in December so we have a double celebration. They both love soccer so I made them each a soccer cake (worst icing job ever but I was crunched for time).

I used this month's sketch from My Creative Sketches.

I also wanted to enter the challenge at The Paper Girls with a father/masculine theme so I chose pictures of my husband and daughter. I also tried to keep the colours a little more on the masculine side.

The green paper is DCWV: The Handy Dandy Stack. The lined paper is Recollections: The Sweetest Thing. The blue paper is a random one from the stash. The flags and loops are Recollections stickers. The words are Authentique. The balloons I pulled off an old birthday card by Papyrus. Everything else I found in the stash.
